I have had a strong affinity for the George Hull Centre for years, growing up in Etobicoke and working at a children’s mental health organization throughout university.  I continue to be amazed by the richness of the services that the Centre provides to youth and families and I am thrilled to be involved with such an incredible organization.  I have always been passionate about children and this resonates even more now that we have our own young family.

George Hull Centre is a remarkable organization making a real difference in the community and in the advancement of children’s mental health. I hope that my service on the Board will contribute to the success of the Centre and all those that it serves.

As the mother of two young boys, I have seen first hand how fragile a child’s mental health can be.  The George Hull Centre serves one of our most vulnerable populations, our children.  I am proud to be able to give back to such an important organization doing incredible work.

Joining the George Hull Centre Board is an exciting opportunity for me.  I have just recently retired from 20 years at the Heart and Stroke Foundation and am eager to be involved with a dynamic organization doing really important work.  I was once a child welfare and community development worker in the Jane/Finch area and I saw both the tremendous needs of children and families and the difference an organization can make for both individuals and the community.  I feel a connection to the George Hull Centre because my dear friend Libby Ridgely was once the Executive Director.

I was introduced to the George Hull Centre roughly four years ago and recognized immediately that this is a grassroots organization that is making a very positive impact on children and families that take part in their mental health programs and services. I believe that children’s mental health is an underserved area and I’m passionate about helping the George Hull Centre in any way I can to better serve the children and families out there that need our support.

As I can personally attest to the meaningful impact the George Hull Centre can have on children and their families, it is my privilege to serve on the GHC Board of Directors. I look forward to being a part of this notable organization, learning from the leadership team and leading-edge research while seeking to advocate for more attention for children and youth mental health in our communities.

With the increased awareness of the importance of children’s mental health the need for services continues to grow. The breadth and depth of programming that The George Hull Centre provides is a lifeline to many in the Etobicoke community. I am thrilled to be able to contribute to their ongoing success.
