Psychiatry

Psychiatry rotations are available in the Community Clinic and Residential and Day Treatment Services.

Community Clinic residents, with Dr. Greg Lodenquai, Dr. Taylor Armstrong, and Dr. Upasana Krishnadev as primary supervisors, become active members on one of two multidisciplinary teams. They provide psychiatric consultation to a rich and diverse clinic population while collaborating and sharing expertise with a group of experienced clinicians.

Psychiatry residents at the Centre are involved with the Clinic population for diagnosis, assessment, and treatment planning.

  • Armstrong coordinates the teaching of Undergraduate medical students through the University of Toronto, as well as heading up an interdisciplinary seminar series during the academic year.
  • Krishnadev leads the psychiatric assessment for birth to age 6 populations and coordinates psychotherapy training for psychiatry residents at the Centre.
  • Lodenquai coordinates the postgraduate training for psychiatry residents at the Centre and is the current Psychiatrist-in-Chief. Dr. Lodenquai is also the consulting psychiatrist to the two residential programs and substance abuse day treatment program.

Through the University of Toronto (Division of Child Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine), the Centre offers two positions for general psychiatry residents and/or career track child psychiatry residents for a 6-month block each, for a total of 4 psychiatry residents per year.
